About Mike Bolton Consulting

Welcome to mikeboltonconsulting.com. If you’re looking for another "Top 10 SEO Tips" list written by an AI that’s never seen a Search Console dashboard, you’re in the wrong place.

I’m Mike Bolton (but not that one, and that's really not my name,) and after many, many, many years in the high-pressure world of boring, marketing jobs, I realized that the industry is 10% data and 90% expensive fluff. I created this site to provide a sarcastic, unfiltered, and deeply cynical look at the world of search and editorial content.

Why Listen to an Alias?

I maintain my anonymity because my day job involves navigating the very corporate bureaucracies I parody here. However, the insights shared on this site are built on a foundation of:

  • Real-World Scars: I’ve managed SEO migrations for e-commerce giants and multi-national brands, and survived more Core Updates than I care to count.
  • Data-First Skepticism: I don’t follow "best practices" just because a Google spokesperson tweeted them. I test them, break them, and then write about why they failed.
  • Technical Proficiency: I don't need to write code to know how it breaks your SEO. My analysis is rooted in the hard logic of crawl budgets, indexing signals, and site architecture; the invisible plumbing that actually dictates your rankings.

The Mission

At Mike Bolton Consulting, the goal is to provide a satirical view of modern digital marketing that informs as much as it entertains. I believe that a healthy dose of cynicism is the best tool an SEO professional has to avoid falling for the latest "shiny object" syndrome.

What I Deliver

  • SEO Deconstructions: Breaking down why certain "viral" content strategies are actually house-of-cards technical disasters.
  • Cynical Guides: Practical SEO advice for people who are tired of the jargon.
  • Algorithm Commentary: In-depth reports on search engine shifts, delivered with the appropriate amount of editorial vitriol.

Every piece of content is researched and vetted through the lens of a practitioner who has spent a decade in the SERPs. If I’m angry when I write it, it’s usually because another "guru" just lied to you for clicks.

Our Standards & Values

  • Expertise through Experience: I only write about what I have personally tested in the field.
  • Transparency: I disclose all affiliate relationships. If I recommend a tool, it’s because it actually works (or it’s the least-broken option available).
  • Accountability: While this is a satirical site, I take SEO accuracy seriously. If you find a technical error, it’s likely because Google changed the rules while I was typing.

Contact

Please don't contact me, if you do then I'll probably write a long article about people that write to satirical blogs. Actually, that sounds quite funny; you should probably do it. Use my Contact Us page to get in touch with me. I might reply.
